☕ TL;DR - Local-First Privacy
BeanBop is built to keep your tracking data on your device. We do not run a cloud backend for account sync, and we do not sell your personal information.
Introduction
BeanBop ("we," "our," or "us") is a caffeine tracking app designed to run primarily on your device. This Privacy Policy explains what data BeanBop handles, where it is stored, and when data may be shared.
Information We Process
BeanBop processes data that you enter, such as:
- Drink logs (name, caffeine amount, size, time)
- Preferences (theme, units, bedtime, reminder settings)
- Wellness inputs (sleep logs, water logs, sensitivity profile)
- Optional profile data (age, gender, weight, height)
- Custom drinks, favorites, achievements, and notes
Where Data Is Stored
- On mobile, app data is stored locally using SQLite
- On web, app data is stored locally in browser storage
- We do not upload this app state to our own servers
Data Sharing and Third Parties
Data may leave your device only in specific user-initiated or third-party cases:
- Share feature: selected content goes only to the app or service you choose
- Export feature: files are saved where you choose
- External links: opening map links sends request data to destination providers
- Web font delivery: web builds may request Google Fonts and send technical data like IP address
Ads and Analytics
- BeanBop currently does not include third-party ad network SDKs in this codebase
- BeanBop currently does not include third-party analytics SDKs in this codebase
Permissions
BeanBop may request network access (INTERNET) for features that rely on external services
such as links and web assets. It does not request invasive permissions like location, camera, contacts,
or microphone in this codebase.
Data Retention and Deletion
- Your data remains on your device until you delete it
- You can remove data by clearing app data or uninstalling the app
- If you export files, you control deletion of those files
Children's Privacy
BeanBop is not designed to knowingly collect personal information directly from children through a remote backend. Since data is stored locally, parents or guardians can control and delete app data directly on the device.
International Users
Because BeanBop does not operate a user cloud backend, we do not perform our own cross-border transfers of app state. Third-party services you choose to use may process data under their own terms.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted with a new "Last Updated" date.
